Today I am linking up with Shay and Erika to talk about how we are gearing up for Back to School season. Only one of my guys goes to preschool so my experience may be a little easier than most Mamas out there.
Since one of my major vices is shopping for kid’s clothes, you know I start my back to school shopping early. My boys are close in age and only one size apart in clothes, so I tend to buy clothes with decent quality that will last me through both kiddos. Stains will happen no matter what brand you buy but after watching Hank rip the knees in every pair of pants I vowed to buy better quality. It is honestly cheaper than having buy everything twice.
I shop online but my main stop for back to school shopping is the outlets. We have beautiful new outlets around here and they have a ton of the stores we shop. My main stops are Under Armour and The Gap for the kids but I’ll go wherever the sale takes me.
Hank was only in preschool two days a week last year so we are reusing his backpack. It got a good cleaning but it is still in perfectly good condition. I got it from Pottery Barn last year and have been thrilled with the quality.
Kind of a funny story: Hank was VERY anxious about his first day of preschool. I took the day off work so that I could be there when he got done (Kevin’s mom picked him up throughout the school year) and planned to take him to lunch. He wanted to go to Friendly’s to get a Fribble. He inhaled the whole Fribble within minutes and then proceeded to vomit EVERYWHERE. His nerves got the best of him and it was a very trying day for our sensitive guy. We cleaned everything up, apologized profusely and headed home. Stressful at the time buy he thinks the story is hilariousness.
The verdict is out on whether we will be going out to lunch this year.
