What We’re Eating This Week…
Corn on the cob!
Corn is getting to be in season around here. Even though we live in NJ we are surrounded by wonderful farms with great produce. Kevin has been throwing the fresh corn on the grill and it’s a great treat.
What I’m Reminiscing About…
With the new baby on the way Kevin and I have been talking about Hank and Reid and their demeanors as babies. They were both SOO different from each other (they still are) but both so precious.
What I’m Loving…
Hallelujah! Amen! All the praise hands!
The boys spent a night a Kevin’s parents last night so I could get to an early morning ultrasound. We took advantage of our kid free night and did a date night. Not only was the company great but it was fantastic to eat my meal when it was hot and be able to use both hands to feed myself. One or both of my hands is typically reserved for helping a child eat or retrieving toys that have fallen on the restaurant floor.
What We’ve Been Up To…
T-Ball. Hank is loving T-Ball and so am I. I love how hard he is working and seeing his enthusiasm.
Stalking the ice cream truck.
Swimming. You better watch out for Spiderman if your hanging out in our pool.
What I’m Dreading…
We found out on Monday that Reid has to have surgery. Poor thing. It’s relatively minor and it should only be day surgery but I still stress about him. He has been hospitalized a couple times in his short life (for unrelated things) and I feel like the kid can’t catch a break. He has such a positive spirit to him and I know he will be fine, but a mother always worries.
What I’m Working On…
Hahahaha, does stockpiling baby stuff count as something I’m working on? If so, I should get a raise. I’m doing a fabulous job. This is the spare closet that is currently my makeshift diaper locker.
What I’m Excited About…
The baby!! I am so so excited about our latest little one. I have an ultrasound today so I’m hoping to get a nice peak at the little guy/girl.
What I’m Reading/Watching…
The Keepers on Netflix. I mean, OF COURSE I’m watching Game of Thrones but that’s too obvious. The Keepers is a docuseries of a cold case killing of a nun that was killed back in 1969. I went to Catholic school all of my life and our family is still involved in our Catholic church. I never even remotely experienced some of the horrors that the church has committed but I know that the issues addressed in this series are real and horrific. It’s a tough watch, but I’m seeing it through.
What I’m Listening To…
Christmas Music. For Christmas in July I indulged in a little Christmas music. I also spent the day online shopping for some Christmas shirts for the boys. No shame in my game.
What I’m Wearing…
I actually haven’t broken into maternity clothes but I know those days are coming soon. I have a ton from my last pregnancies but I just bought a few more pieces that to add to the mix.

What I’m Doing This Weekend…
Our town has a fair this weekend that we are going to try going to. We also might go to the waterpark at the beach if the weather holds out. The kids have been begging to go. We were planning to go later in the summer but without knowing Reid’s surgery date it puts a lot of things up in the air. In a few weeks he may not be able to go to a waterpark so I don’t want him to miss out since he has been talking about it all summer.
What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…
Relaxing. We don’t have too much planned for August and that is just how I like it. We have some birthdays to celebrate and back to school orientation (our kids don’t go back to school until September here) and that’s about it.
What Else Is New…
That’s about it. Just enjoying the calm before the back to school storm.
What Is Your Favorite Thing About Summer…
That everything is open and you can do whatever you please. If you want to kayak down the river? Go right ahead, the weather is beautiful. Want to hit up your favorite restaurant at the beach? Better hurry up, because the whole island shuts down come September. I like the overall freedom that summer allows.
