What’s Up Wednesday

Hey Everyone!

We had QUITE a May! So many birthdays (including my little guy Hank), a big Mother’s Day brunch, a ton of school events, time at the beach and loads of family fun. May will be pretty hard to top, but here’s hoping that June brings just as much excitement.

Here’s some more of what we are up to…

What We’re Eating This Week…

Birthday party leftovers.

Over the weekend we celebrated Hank’s 4th Birthday. I am doing my very best to keep my self away from all the sweets.

What I’m Reminiscing About…

My baby. Whenever one of my kids has a birthday I love to look back and see how much they’ve grown.

What I’m Loving…

Eating dinner in the park. we have a huge park right at the end of our street with trails, ball fields, and a play area. We bring dinner with us on our bike rides and eat at the gazebos. It’s fun and different. Plus I’ll never say no to some fresh air.

What We’ve Been Up To…

Celebrating this big guy turning 4!!

What I’m Dreading…

Ughh…I’m having car issues. My car is only two years old but I have hated it since the day I got it. As soon as it is done at the dealership (hopefully today!) I am going to shop for a new car. There is nothing in this world that I hate more than car shopping. Also, please send me any recs for a larger SUV. I think I want one with captains chairs in the second row but I’m open minded.

What I’m Working On…

May is my busiest month when I host a ton of parties and events. Now that we have made it through May I  would LIKE to just relax a bit, but that probably won’t happen. At the very least, I want to declutter the house. We have a spare bedroom upstairs where things seem to collect, a messy closet in the laundry room, and two junk drawers in the kitchen where everything needs to get purged.

What I’m Excited About…

Only two weeks left of school and then we are heading up to Niagara Falls for a few days to celebrate Hank finishing his first year of preschool. Should be a nice little getaway.

What I’m Reading…

I am just finishing up Summerland. May has been a great reading month for me. Can’t wait to share my latest reads with you.

What I’m Listening To…

Baseball. It’s a given this time of year that baseball will either be on in the background or on the radio while driving. Now I enjoy watching it on TV but I can’t stand listening to sports on the radio!! It’s the worst.

What I’m Wearing…

I have made a vow to myself to wear more sunscreen this year. Right now I am just stealing the kids stuff but I am open to recs.

OK, I bought this for the boys but is this not the cutest thing?! They don’t really need it right now so I may even put it away for when Reid starts school. I saw it and I just knew that if I didn’t scoop it up, I’d wish that I had. It was delivered yesterday and it is even cuter in person.

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

A lot of fun with Kevin’s extended family. We have a christening for a very sweet baby boy and a wedding for an absolutely beautiful couple. If you know me at all, you know that I LOVE weddings. From start to finish. Everyone is so happy, and dressed up and formal. Two people are going to be making some of the best memories of their lives and I am touched to be asked to witness. You know what else is great about weddings? Its a built in date night. I can’t wait to dance with my handsome guy, eat cake, and laugh.

Us at the bridal shower.

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

So much! We have weddings and christenings. I was asked to be the Godmother to my best friend’s baby girl and I could not be more honored. Hank will finish up his school year and we are taking the kids on a little getaway up to Canada (Niagara). We also have Father’s Day and some more family events planned.

What Else Is New…

Reid got to enjoy his first MLB game this past weekend as we cheered on the Phillies. Hank was getting into the game but Reid was more interested in the food.

What Is Your Favorite Vacation Spot?

This is easy, the Adirondacks. I love new experiences so the first time Kevin took me here I was a little skeptical (I’m typically more of a caribbean island kind of girl) but I was BLOWN AWAY but the beauty, the charm, and the spirit of this place. You wake up there and you just feel happy and energized. We have already decided that this is where we are going to retire.

There are so many things I LOVE about this post- 1. you are so lucky to have a park like that near your house and I agree, getting outside is key this time of year. I feel like our winter season last FOREVER. 2. Can’t wait to hear all about your trip to Nagara 3. I am obsessed with weddings too and completely agree with you and 4. I love listening to baseball too- sometimes have the Red Sox in the background even when I am working BUT I have a feeling we are on opposite sides of the SOX/YANKEES rivalry 😉

I’m with you, love the Caribbean but a place like the Adirondacks would get me at the beauty and simplicity, What a month girl, Hank’s cake was the cutest!!! June is going to be so great, so excited for your Niagara trip, I was just there with TBB ladies on the Canada side and we had a ball on the boat tour. Have a beautiful Wednesday beautiful girl!!

Hank’s birthday was so cute. The cake was precious and I LOVE the tree with all the pictures. I need to log that away in my mind…that would be so cute for Christmas cards!!!💡 Have a wonderful trip to Niagara Falls. I’m sure it will be beyond amazing.

Ok I know you said larger SUV, but being a former Suburban driving mom, I have to tell you that I love my Jeep Wrangler. It fits the 4 of us perfectly, has plenty of space in the back for groceries, suitcases, etc, and I think because it’s not a monster, it’s easier to maintain. And it’s a lot of fun to drive- especially with the doors off and the top down! Plus I have a lifetime warranty! We used to be Target brand sunscreen people but I have officially said no to buying more sprays. We got the Hawaiian Tropic sport bottle (It’s turquoise) and LOVE it! Not too expensive, smells amazing, and provides excellent coverage! If you have sensitive skin, stay away from Neutrogena Kids Wet Skin spray- I broke out in a horrible allergic reaction and had to go to the emergency center. Sorry for the long comment!

LOL, I feel like I am always leaving you long comments. My husband is DYING for a Wrangler but the SUV I have now is a Jeep and it has been nothing but trouble since the day I bought it. Thanks for the recs. I’m going to pick some up this weekend. Reid has very sensitive skin too so I’ll stay clear. Thanks friend!

That cake and the snacks at the party have me HUNGRY! I would have a hard time keeping away from any type of leftovers! I love weddings too, so I can totally appreciate your excitement for having some coming up!

We just got a Honda CRV which is not a large SUV but we love it. I love the tree with lights for the pictures. So fun. We use Rodan + Fields Sunscreen and love it. I’ll tell you that I’m a consultant, but the sunscreen was the product that sold me on trying their other products. I’m very fair and it works so well for me. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
