I can’t believe the weekend is over already. We were on the go all weekend but it was fun, I promise. I think I got out more this weekend then in the last six months combined.
After work on Friday I met up with Kevin and the boys to check out the Nesting House. An old friend of ours is the new owner and they were having a party to celebrate their new ownership. The store is adorable! We picked up some clothes for the boys and it was so great to watch friends’ amazing accomplishments.
Friday night I went out with my girlfriends to…a drag show. They have gone before and promised me it was a blast. They were right! It was definitely different, but pretty hilarious. They put on a great show but this mama was TIRED. The show didn’t even start until WAY past my bedtime.
I love these ladies. We have been friends our entire lives and I couldn’t imagine my life without them.
Saturday night the boys were having a sleep over at their grandparent’s house complete with root beer floats. They were PUMPED! While the kiddies were away, Kevin and I set out for a date night in Atlantic City. Kevin worked in Atlantic City for a long time so it has a special spot in his heart but the city has changed so much in the past few years.
We had to hit up Bass Pro Shops on our way into town. This is the life of an outdoorsman’s wife.
Our third wheel.
Truth be told I love this stuff but Cabela’s is my outdoor store of choice.
After checking out the fishing lures we headed to The Playground at Caeser’s. We were having dinner at Buddakan which we’ve been to a few times in Philly but never down in AC. Even though the city is in a downturn they still have great restaurants.
I don’t even want to tell you what we ate because the sheer volume of food consumed would make you sick. Suffice it to say, it was delicious. We were able to relax and enjoy our food and each other. We have fallen into the habit of INHALING our food because we don’t know when a kid is going to need help with something, have a spill, or whatever. It was so relaxing to just sit and talk and eat. I told Kevin that I was so relaxed that I could have fallen asleep right there at dinner. #momtruths
This is only the second time the boys have stayed out overnight. To be honest, it was SO WEIRD. I love being able to hold the hand of my husband instead of having my hands full with diaper bags and fruit snacks. We stopped at Wet Willies, a daiquiri bar that has wall to wall daiquiri concoctions then hit up the Wild West at Bally’s. It was fun and energizing but by the next morning, we wanted our babies back.
Sunday I was back to the suburban mom routine complete with trips to Home Depot, yoga pants, and bagels. Wouldn’t change it for the world.
