Our crew had such a fun weekend as we tried to squeeze the last bit of summer out. On Saturday morning my best friend came by so that the kids could play together. Her daughter (my goddaughter) is 5 months and Reid is in love. Ever since we told him that we are having another baby he has been enthralled by all babies but really takes a liking to baby Mia. He would lay on the floor with her and talk to her in his little baby voice. It’s adorable.
Hank insisted that we gather a bunch of our trucks and make a truck wash station on the porch. As long as they are playing with water, my kids are happy.
Enjoying this precious girl.
I think I might have my hands full with Reid when all of the new baby stuff comes out. All day he wants to pretend that HE is the baby and didn’t skip a beat in hopping into Mia’s carseat and pretending he was “baby Reid”.
After lunch our friends went home and we all took a late nap to prep for Saturday night. I’ve mentioned before that Kevin is the PT for the Philadelphia Soul and Saturday was their championship Arena Bowl. We met up with friends of Kevin’s to tailgate then headed inside for the action.
The boys’ favorite thing about the games is the tattoos and balloons.
Hanging with my man.
We won! We were out WAY past our bedtimes but it was worth it.
Hank and I were on the field while they were shooting off the confetti and got in a pretty competitive confetti fight.
By the time we headed home we were all BEAT but we knew that we needed to be at the beach early the next morning.
Still smiling, even on very little sleep.
We took the boys to Cape May on a dolphin watching trip. When we went out last year the boat went out into the bay where the water is a lot calmer. This trip they went out into the ocean and the waves were pretty rough. I lasted an hour before I started feeling sick and needed to put my head down. Pregnancy and a crazy rocking boat may not be the best combination. After about 20 minutes I was able to rally and enjoy the rest of the trip with my crew.
There are a ton of dolphins in the area. Just sitting on the beach you will see dolphins but the boat really lets you get up close and watch them dance and play around with one another. The boat also has a device that allows you to hear the dolphins communicating with one another under the water.
If this doesn’t sum up their relationship, I don’t know what does.
After the boat ride we headed into our beach town for some quick boardwalk fun.
We hit the arcade and the candy store, rode a few rides and had a quick lunch. By this point in the weekend we were all exhausted but knew that the kids would fall asleep on the ride home and that bed times would be wrecked. We stopped to visit with my aunt and grandmom for awhile then went out to dinner before heading home. And wouldn’t you know, no one fell asleep on the way.
I also want all of my Texas/Louisiana friends to know that they are in my thoughts and prayers as they deal with the Hurricane and its aftermath.
