Weekend Roundup

This weekend I had the wonderful pleasure of being named the Godmother of my best friend’s sweet baby girl. I am incredibly honored to fill this role for baby Mia and I look forward to playing a vital role in her life.

This is Father Chris. He is definitely a favorite for us. He is absolutely wonderful with the kids and is very involved in Hank’s class.

Proud parents.

The rest of these pictures were all taken by my 4 year old budding photographer.

This kid is never without a trash can in his hand,

My Dad and Kevin.

The ceremony was held in the same church where Β both my boys were Christened so it brought back a lot of wonderful memories for me.

We also spent a CRAZY amount of time playing baseball with Hank. T-Ball starts this week and he is PUMPED. He hasn’t put down his new bat and glove for a second. He sleeps with his glove on his hand and wakes me up every morning asking if I’m ready to smash some baseballs. He’s a great hitter for his age so we are working on catching. We have a couple of batting tees so from now until his first practice I’m going to try to get him to hit from the actual tee to get the hang of it.

Other highlights of the weekend included:

Deck project: This is where most of our weekend went. You ever have a project that you think will be super easy but then…NOPE! We intended to put up a nice secure gate on our deck that leads into the pool but once we starting moving things around we found that there were some rotted spots in the wood. So now we are pulling up the whole section of the deck and replacing the wood, etc etc. We figure, if you’re going to do it, you should do it right. The biggest holdup? Our crew consists of a 4 year old and a 2 year old who are very eager to be helpers. And by helpers I mean that something that should take 1 hour inevitably takes 5.

Visiting family: Remember I said I had a couple sick family members last week. We had some get-well visits.

Losing in air hockey: I lost about a million games of table top air hockey with this little critter. In my defense: he cheats.

I love your dress! I hate doing projects anymore because they always lead to way more work than expected. Have a great Monday!

What a pretty dress and what an incredible honor. I hate when simple projects turn into something more complicated or last longer. What a fun weekend you all had!

LOL! Love that you have to defend your air hockey skills! Don’t let him win, Mom!

I love that Hank sleeps with his mitt. Oh my heart! So we basically feel like every single project we take on is that way. Sewing projects are always that way for me too. UGH! Happy Monday!
