Hey Gang! I hope you are all easing back into your Monday routines.
Family fun was the theme this weekend. Kevin finally had a weekend off of work so we squeezed in as much together time as we could.
Our town fair was this weekend which is our FAVORITE event each year. Our town has fun happenings all year but this one is the best. One of the greatest pluses is that it is held at the park just at the end of our block. We were so excited for this event that the boys and I rode our bikes up as soon as we woke up to watch all the vendors set up.
We wanted to hold a BBQ back at our house but honestly it was the wackiest weather all day. The weather would go from hot to freezing to rain all in a matter of 15 minutes and that cycle continued all day long. So we just went and enjoyed it. Kevin’s parents were able to come up and brought our niece and nephew which made it even more fun.
This was the smokehouse that the firefighters set up. It simulated a house fire and the taught you tips on how to make it through a house safely if you were caught in a fire. It was pretty interesting.
I think I was smiling just as big as the kids. Until this weekend Hank had a MAJOR fear of bouncy houses. I’m talking nightmares, heart pounding, can’t even look at them kind of fear. This weekend he decided to conquer his fear and boy did he ever! I think he spent half the day jumping around in all of the bouncy houses they had set up.
These animals were so sweet and gently. They had brushes for the kids so that could brush their fur.
Reid is now convinced he will be a first responder when he gets big.
Oh, the pig races. For the record, I live in New Jersey but in the southern part of the state that is a pretty even mix of housing developments and farmland.
My little candy kids.
We were trying to kill some time before the fireworks went off so we set up our pillows and blankets and got our popcorn all ready for Moana. You can see the fireworks clearly from our house so we had planned to screen the movie and then watch fireworks from the porch but these two guys conked out from their day of fun.
We felt bad that the boys were going to miss the fireworks so we kept trying to wake them up and even brought Hank outside.
We were dying laughing and kept calling it Weekend At Bernies. Hank was out cold and just limp. Nothing was waking that kid up.
I still got to enjoy the view with my guy.
Sunday was donuts, and swim practice and errands like usual. The boys had their final track race of the season and we were so so proud of their hard work. Awards were given out for the season and Hank placed for his age division. I don’t think that kid stopped grinning for the rest of the night.
Hope your Monday goes easy on ya. Talk to you soon friends.
