I am linking with Andrea today to talk about some of my guilty pleasures. I had a good list to share with you all but then I got real and realized that there is NO GUILT associated with some of these pleasures. Game of Thrones addiction? I don’t feel guilty at all. There are a few things that my wallet and waist line could do without that I’m not giving up though. For example:
I bake every week. Sometimes it is something simply like brownies or cupcakes and sometimes it is more elaborate but there is always something fresh baked in the house. I love having a fresh sweet after dinner. I can eat a sliver every day and be satisfied but Kevin gets a little annoyed that there is always junk food in the house when he is trying to eat healthy. He is NOT as satisfied with a sliver.
Shopping for Kid’s Clothes
(Hank’s shirts on laundry day. I won’t even admit to how much more was there after the laundry was done…or how much I have bought since this pic was taken.)
I’ve definitely talked about this one before. My kids have so much more clothes than needed. I love shopping for nice clothes as well as play clothes for them. I also justify my shopping because I have the two boys so close in age. I know that as soon as Hank is done wearing something it immediately gets moved to Reid’s closet. These clothes do get a lot of wear…at least that’s what I tell myself.
I try to stay 10 steps ahead when planning anything of significance. Reid is already talking about what he wants to do for his 3rd birthday…so I made a Pinterest board and wrote ideas in my planner. In my defense, he is not a kid that changes his mind about anything. Halloween customers, holiday menus, gifts, parties, etc. are all planned (very) well in advance. I am not a person that deals well under pressure. The insanity of it helps me stay sane. The only exception is this blog which tends to be a little more “fly by the seat of your pants” when it comes to blog posts.
I would probably be a lot healthier if I could cut my “dessert yogurt” addiction. But honestly, it’s not going anywhere. I NEED to eat a yogurt everyday with toppings like it is an ice cream sundae. Most days, I’ll just throw in some chocolate chips and call it a day. When I’m at work, I add a glop of peanut butter (Reid has a peanut allergy so we don’t keep PB in the house). When I want to get REALLY crazy it’s PB, chocolate chips, a couple marshmallows and some whipped cream.
I wish I had something more scandalous to share with you but alas, I’m not that exciting. Can’t wait to read everyone’s posts so I can find some unhealthy habits to pick up.
