We have a 4 year old!

Today our Hank turns 4 years old! I know people always say “I can’t believe it!” when their child gets another year older. But with Hank, I can’t believe he is ONLY four. He is such an old soul and I have a hard time remembering the days that he wasn’t with me. It feels like he has been with me, in my heart, forever.

My dream growing up was always to be a mother. Truly, I never wanted anything more than I wanted to be someone’s mother. When Kevin and I got married we knew we were going to wait a few years to have kids So he could finish his doctoral program. I’m not going to lie, I had MAJOR baby fever back then and was dying to start having kids. Finally I could not wait any longer and we were lucky enough  to time Hank’s birth the month after Kevin’s graduation.

Since he was born Hank has amazed us with his intellect, kindness, and athleticism. He is a natural caretaker and is always looking to help anyone in need.

Hank, since your last birthday you have:

Had your first year of PRESCHOOL! (SO SO proud of all the strides you made this year. I’ll never forget when we took you out to lunch after your first day and you puked all over the restaurant from nerves.)

Amazed us with your running in track.

Won an award at the library for reading 1000 books.

Did NYC at Christmas time

Spent a ton of time at the beach.

Traveled to Tennessee

Made great strides in swim lessons

Made a lot of new friends

Saw every holiday attraction Philadelphia has to offer.

Spread carrots through our entire neighborhood so the Easter bunny wouldn’t forget anyone’s house.

Went canoeing.

Watched the Phillies play baseball.

Celebrated lots of holidays and family birthdays

Did lots of hiking.

Went on a few boat rides.

Tackled your fear of bouncy houses.

Traveled to DC

Split your chin ice skating (thats where that little scar under your chin came from).

Spent a weekend in PA complete with miniature horses and Dutch Wonderland

Learned to take selfies.

Saw parades.

Picked pumpkins.

Spent time at the aquarium

Played in the snow.

Saw your first movie in a theaters (Moana).

Visited the planetarium

Played at the Delaware Children’s Museum

Caught a lot of fish.

Gave us all a billion hugs and kisses!

And so many many many more fun adventures.

Hank- We love you with all our hearts. More and more every day. Or, as YOU would say, “I love you just the way you are. Up to the moon, all around the planets, and back home”.
