Friday Favorites

Hooray for a short week! It has been a whirlwind of a week for us with so much to celebrate. On Sunday we hit the Phillies game to celebrate my Dad’s birthday, on Monday Hank had his big 4th birthday, Tuesday was Hank’s actual birthday so we celebrated again on a smaller scale, and Wednesday we celebrated my sister’s birthday with a BBQ since she will be in Hawaii on her real birthday. Phew! Suffice it to say, we have eaten a LOT of cake this week.

I have been so busy celebrating that it’s been a slow blog week but you can check out this week’s posts here:

On Hank’s birthday I highlighted his past year. This kid accomplished SO MUCH as a three year old. Can’t wait to see where age 4 takes him.
For What’s Up Wednesday I shared all the latests of our lives and what we have going on in June.

Here are a few of my favorites this week:

Can anyone identify these beautiful flowers that grow around my mailbox each year. They are in full bloom right now and they are absolutely breathtaking. I wish I knew the name of the flower. I do not have a green thumb AT ALL but I can appreciate the beauty of it.

Our Birthday Boy

Not only because he is so darn cute. But as soon as he woke up on his birthday he has been doing all kinds of things that I have FOREVER trying to get him to do on his own. His explanation: “Mom, I’m four now. I can do it myself.” Thank the Lord!

Speaking of not having a green thumb, the opposite could be said for Kevin. He has taken over control of our veggies and I could not be happier to hand over the torch. We are all stocked up on supplies and he has tomatoes and blackberries going. You go for it, Kev! You grow ’em, I cook ’em.

Donut Stops

A new bakery has opened by us and the boys love heading there on weekends for healthy donut breakfasts. I can’t say that I mind it.

We have a fun weekend ahead of us as we celebrate a friend’s wedding, a family christening and we are hoping to go canoeing as long as the weather holds out. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

While you’re here check out a few of my wonderful blog friends.

I have the worst black thumb ever. Brad is the planter/grower here too. I think we are skipping the garden this year because we just don’t have time, so sad! Have a great weekend!

Hey Tara! I’m pretty sure those are clematis. I saw them on mailboxes a lot when we lived in VA. You’ve had such a fun week. I wish I was going to a new donut shop…instead of eating all the vegetables…LOL
    Have a great weekend!!!!
