Hey Friends! Today I am sharing a few of the things in life that make me and my wallet smile. Don’t you just love when you find something you REALLY love AND its inexpensive?! I love love love hearing from a friend that they found something they love and it’s cheap so I’m sharing a few of my own favs.
NYX BB Cream- $9
Growing up I always had a few freckles that dotted the bridge of my nose but ever since I hit 30 I feel like they have been multiplying faster than fruit flies on an old banana. Some days, I’ll rock the freckles. But to be totally honest, most times I just want my skin to look even.
Even full coverage makeup wasn’t covering them so after watching a couple YouTube tutorials I picked up this BB Cream and it has made a WORLD of difference. I put it on under my foundation and my skin looks fantastic.
Water Bottle Caps- $4
I have used these caps for about 3 years now and the convenience still amazes me. I ALWAYS have these with me.
I am a master at packing healthy fun snacks but I am always forgetting drinks OR the good travel cups have been rolling around the floor of my car for a few days and need a run through the dishwasher but we are on our way out the door. These things are easy to pop on, prevent spills, keep everyone happy and hydrated.
Chips & Queso- approx. $4
I mean, come on! Who DOESN’T go bananas for chips and queso?! I will make my own queso at home but it doesn’t even compare to the greatness that comes from real mexican queso, especially when the chips are made fresh. I’m drooling just thinking about it.
I talk all the time about how much we use our library but for the sake of consistency, I’ll give it another plug. GO TO THE LIBRARY! I’m a big reader and breeze through books. I could spend hundreds of dollars a month on books. But I don’t. I get them all with my tax dollars. My town has a county library which means that even if my branch doesn’t have the book I want, they will literally find it at another location and deliver it to the one in my town, then call me when it’s in. FOR FREE. Don’t even get me started on the fun stuff for kids. My library has multiple story times with songs and crafts per week, a playroom, a tons of fun events. It fosters my kids love of reading and you cannot put a price on that.
Batiste Dry Shampoo-$8
I have tried a number of dry shampoos over the years but THIS ONE is my current favorite, especially when you factor in the price. Some I tried…just stunk…literally. I felt like I was going to bed as an over perfumed old lady. Others worked, but were kinda pricy. I spray on my hair at night and in the morning. This product keeps my whole head of hair (and I have pretty thick hair) light and pretty devoid of bedhead.
Notebooks-$6.00 give or take
I LOVE notebooks. Any notebook. All notebooks.
I’m a pen and paper kinda gal and I get my best thinking and writing done in a notebook. Whenever I buy and open and brand new notebook I feel like my entire life has gotten a fresh start.
I have this horrible and wonderful habit that as soon as both boys are asleep for the night, I go to the pantry for 3 Mint Oreos, get a cup of milk, and start dunkin’. Mint and chocolate is my favorite flavor combo!
I’m not much of a drinker but some nights I like to have a glass of wine with my husband while we unwind and chat. I don’t need anything fancy and it practically pains me to spend a ton of money on something that will be gone so quickly. I’ll take any brand of Moscato, especially in the summer time. But if wanna give me a real treat, I’ll take a glass of Cupcake Moscato D’asti please.
Scratch off Tickets-$1+
As a kid my Dad would often come home from work and would bring us Peppermint Patties and $1 scratch offs. Nothing like creating healthy habits for your children, right?! Ha! We loved it. And if you want to internet judge me, here you go: I let me kids buy $1 scratch offs too. They see the machines they have in stores now and ask for a dollar to see if they can win. When they hit the button and the ticket drops down they shriek because they think that THAT is winning. I give them high fives and scratch them off when they go to bed.
OK I fibbed. This one is over $10 but just by a SMIDGE!
These things are amazing. I lost my favorite pair of Ray Bans and was so angry and upset. I went a crazy long period of time without any sunglasses at all because I was still bitter about my missing pair. I bought these with the intent that they would tide me over until I picked a nicer pair. But lemme tell ya, I have NO intention of buying another pair. These are the same if not better quality than my Ray Bans. I love the way they look and feel. They definitely do not feel “cheap” despite their low price. Plus, it’s Nordstrom and they always sucker me in with their free shipping.
Let me know what some of your favorites are! I am always looking for fun new products.
